FAQ

Everything you're wondering before you ask.

How far in advance should I book?

As early as you can, especially for June–August weddings, when Croatia's peak wedding season books up dates quickly. Six to twelve months ahead is ideal; shorter notice can sometimes be accommodated, particularly off-season, subject to a last-minute booking rate.

Do you travel to the islands — Hvar, Korčula, Brač, Vis?

Yes, regularly. A travel surcharge applies to cover the ferry crossing and transfer time — see the Pricing page for indicative amounts by island.

What's included in a standard wedding booking?

Most couples choose the processional, a quiet air during the signing, and a recessional as they leave as newlyweds — roughly 30 minutes across the ceremony. Packages can be extended to cover guest arrivals and a grand entrance to the reception.

Can you learn a specific song for our ceremony?

Often, yes. Many contemporary and traditional favourites are already in the repertoire — see the Journal for a sample set list. New arrangements can be learned for a small additional fee, subject to whether the piece works on Highland pipes.

What does Sean wear for performances?

Traditional Highland dress for every performance — wedding, corporate event, or memorial: an Argyle jacket, dress shirt, kilt and ghillie brogues.

Can you arrange a second piper or a drummer for a larger event?

This isn't something that can be guaranteed, but for larger processions or ceremonial events it's sometimes possible to source an additional piper or drummer through local contacts. Mention it when you enquire and feasibility for your date can be confirmed directly — no promises made until it's checked.

Do you play indoors as well as outdoors?

Yes — churches, halls and covered venues all work well, though outdoor ceremonies remain the most popular setting for the full effect of the pipes.

What happens in bad weather?

Bagpipes handle wind and light rain without issue. For heavier weather, performance simply moves to your venue's covered backup location — worth confirming as part of planning.

How do we book, and what's the deposit?

Message via WhatsApp, email, or the contact form with your date, venue and vision. Once a quote is agreed, a 25–30% deposit secures the date, with the balance due 14 days before your event.

Do you travel outside Croatia?

Yes — anywhere in the EU is straightforward, along with neighbouring countries that don't require a visa for a short stay, including Slovenia, Montenegro, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Italy, Austria and Germany. Destinations further afield can be discussed case by case — get in touch with your location and this can be confirmed.
